Curriculum Development for Work Based Masters Programme MSc in Systems & Software Engineering
The project will enable graduates/graduate equivalents to complete essential elements of their learning whilst based at work in order to enable them to become registered (Chartered Engineer) members of their professional institute, the BCS.
Building on work already undertaken with other professional institutions, a guided, work-based route to professional registration will be provided.
The intention of this programme, which is an extension of the work with ECuk, is to address the decline in registered engineers in the UK.
Unless addressed the current age profile of registered engineers in the UK means that the decline in numbers will become increasingly severe. Work in other areas of engineering indicates that graduates will be attracted to this programme.
