Bridging into Higher Education from Vendor Qualifications
The project is to allow potential students with current vendor qualification such as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or CompTIA A+ to be exempt certain Foundation Degree in IT for E-Business modules.
The Foundation Degree modules that have module aims that enable the completion of one of these vendor qualifications will be exempt by completion of a unit of bridging material providing Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL).
This project is to be carried out at the New Technology Institute, Kingston University. As the Foundation Degree is studied in a part time mode (it is a full time course studied over 12 months per year with 3 semesters) the students may continue working whilst studying. With the exemption of modules it is expected that the students will join the part time version of the course.
