The West London Lifelong Learning Network (West London Lifelong Learning Network) presented the first Engineering & Technology Lifelong Learning Award to College of North West London (CNWL) student Elizabeth Jones.
Frank Brown, Head of School of Higher Education Studies, CNWL, selected Elizabeth as she “produced excellent work and had to endure a medical problem that often meant she was in pain.” After completing the Advanced Professional Certificate in Construction (Level 3) she progressed on to the HNC in Construction (Level 4).
Elizabeth, who also received £500 to subsidise future learning resources, is now completing a Foundation Degree in Building Surveying (Level 5). She will move in to Level 6 next year at the University of Westminster. She currently works for a Housing Trust in the Maintenance section and aspires to go into project management as the course includes units on contractual procedures, construction methods and techniques.
The Engineering & Technology Lifelong Learning Award raises awareness of and embeds the concept of Lifelong Learning after Level 3 qualifications. It encourages progression to Level 4 Higher Education.
