Project Evaluation: Safeguarding Children
Wednesday 27 January 2010 Permlink

This report described the progress of the Safeguarding Children grant from the West London Lifelong Learning for the establishment of 6 one-day workshops on issues of child safeguarding in partnership with Kingston Safeguarding Services.
The project also scoped out the accreditation of the workshops into modules for a planned MSc in Advanced Practice to be validated and run from January 2011.
Whilst the planned workshops were delayed due to difficulties in Kingston Safeguarding services which meant that social workers could not be made available in Autumn 2009, these have now been planned for January-March 2010.
The content of the workshops has been developed and the discussions over the accreditation of the sessions have taken place.
In addition, an evaluation of the impact of the workshops on social work practice has been commissioned by Kingston Safeguarding Services, to ensure the effectiveness of the learning programme prior to its being rolled out to other services.
