what is a progression agreement?

A Progression Agreement clarifies entry requirements into Higher Education.

It is an agreement between the West London Lifelong Learning Network’s academic partners, that enables vocational learners to progress onto specified Higher Education programmes or groups of programmes.

Why are they needed?

Education is changing and increasingly demand led by employers.

New types of learners are entering the market, many already in employment, who do not hold the standard entry qualifications for Higher Education.

What will they do?

Progression Agreements will:

Who creates them?

The West London Lifelong Learning Network and its academic partners.

We are a HEFCE funded partnership of regional Higher Education Institutions, Further Education Colleges and Sixth Form Colleges.

Our mission is to increase the number of vocational learners in Higher Education and respond to employers skills shortages.

When will they come into practice?

Progression Agreements are currently being created and many will be operational from early 2008.
