Mission & Aims
What is our mission?
To develop additional activities, relationships and provision that increase the number of vocational learners progressing to and through Higher Education.
What are our aims?
The West London Lifelong Learning Network aims to:
- work with vocational learners who have Level 3 qualifications in the subject areas which are the focus of our network
- identify those who would benefit from additional support to achieve Level 4 qualifications
- encourage, or create, provision and modes of delivery and agreements which enable progression to Level 4 (and Level 7) where it does not currently exist
- raise awareness of the options available for progression to Higher Education for those who have undertaken prior learning and training (APEL, APL and advanced standing)
- ensure that those who wish to develop and refresh their skills through Continuous Professional Development (CPD) have opportunities to engage with Higher Education
- create and deliver Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) which removes the complexity from the process of accessing and entering Higher Education.
All of the above will be delivered in a way which is mindful of the particular needs of vocational learners, learning providers and employers, and the contribution being made to the prosperity of West London.
