The West London Lifelong Learning Network (WL LLN) is celebrating its second birthday with confirmation from HEFCE that the project is to be extended by 6 months.
The WL LLN began its third year of operations on 1st November 2008 and started the year with a response from HEFCE to their application to reprofile existing funding to extend current operations by 6 months.
This means that WL LLN operations are now funded to the end of April 2010.
This additional time will allow the LLN to undertake a number of outcome and sustainability focussed activities including:
- Curriculum development and change
- Progression Agreement implementation
- Employer engagement
- Meaningful monitoring and evaluation.
It will also provide an opportunity to work more strategically with partners regarding a longer term future for the work of the WL LLN and to expand current activities around the new Diplomas – including the appointment of a Diploma Engagement Manager to replace one of the current Sector Coordinator roles.
Graeme Hall, Executive Director the WL LLN, said: “The LLN is delivering high quality support to a wide range of innovative projects both across the West London area and nationally – this extension will allow us to complete our work and enbed the outcomes in partner organisations – it is also testament to the hard work of the WL LLN team that our application to reprofile was accepted without amendment.”
