Peer Evaluation with Leap Ahead

The West London Lifelong Learning Network team travelled to the Open University in Milton Keynes last month to meet with our counterparts at Leap Ahead – the LLN for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire – as part of the nationwide LLN peer evaluation exercise.
Peer evaluations are part of the three stage HEFCE Evaluation Strategy for the LLN initiative and involve pairs of LLNs evaluating each other’s processes and activities.
The aim is to identify good practice that will improve and enhance the work of each LLN and improve outcomes for the Networks in meeting their business aims.
Following this initial meeting, groups of staff from both LLNs will work together to evaluate key areas of work, such as:
- Curriculum development
- Information, Advice and Guidance
- eLearning
- Progression agreements
- Credit.
These individual evaluations will be drawn together to produce a report that will be published in May 2008.
