Due to the success of the TVU APEL Seminar: Re-engineering the Curriculum to Fit Employers Needs, held last June for TVU staff, the WL LLN organised a repeat of the seminar on the 13th November 2009 at Paragon House.
Presenters were Professor Chris Birch, Graeme Hall and Dieter Herde.
The programme included:
- APEL: the student HE experience
- APEL developments in HEI’s and
- Re-engineering a curriculum to fit Employers needs.
The seminar provided the delegates with the opportunity to discuss the delivery and available opportunities for APEL at TVU.
With the predicted demographic downturn in young people entering HE and the skills agenda, the use of accreditation of prior learning provides the opportunity to attract employers and employees to Higher Education.
