FutureSkills hosted the recent meeting of the Heathrow Aviation Progression Agreement Development Group.
The group is a consortia of partners in the West London Lifelong Learning Network brought together by Kerry Schutz the Sector Manager for Heathrow Business and Sector Manager for STEM (subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics).
The group welcomed Joe Harman from BAA who provided an expansive and informative overview of Heathrow operations.
The purpose of this group is to openly explore and develop the learning provision for Aviation Operations and Management related subjects in West London.
The partnership involves:
- Brunel University
- Hammersmith West London College
- Harrow College
- Royal Holloway University of London
- Stanmore College
- Thames Valley University
- West Thames College.

Kingston University have recently been invited to join this partnership and are considered a key player in assisting the passage and process of Royal Holloway’s first Foundation Degree (in Aviation Studies).
This is a unique partnership, demonstrating that Higher Education partners can collaborate very effectively with each other, with employers and Further Education Colleges, to develop high quality provision that the Heathrow Sector needs, across a variety of learning segments in aviation operations and management.
