West London Human Resources Master’s Bridging Team Aims High

Thames Valley University, HWLC and Uxbridge College are jointly developing an innovative new bridging programme which will allow experienced Human Resources (HR) professionals to gain access to a HR Masters programme at TVU without undertaking a full first Degree.
The project brings together HR curriculum experts from all three institutions to develop new bridging modules which will develop learners’ skills and confidence, and prepare them for the Masters Degree programme.
John McDonald, Chair of the steering group developing this work, said:
‘This programme is intended as a fast track progression route for experienced HR practitioners who may have been out of formal education for some time but have the capability to achieve a Masters qualification in HR.
‘For this group, taking two or three years out of their careers to complete a first Degree is often not practical.
‘By taking this course programme, individuals will get a chance to test themselves and develop their formal academic and work-based skills in a supportive environment before they commit to the full HR Masters programme’.
The course will run on a part-time basis for three months on a rolling programme from January 2009 and will be delivered at partner institution sites across West London and the Thames Valley.
