Foundation Degree in Biomedical Sciences
This will be a part-time, blended learning course for Associate Healthcare Scientists in full-time employment in NHS diagnostic pathology laboratories.
The Biomedical Science profession now recognises the need for a vocational HE programme providing professional and Level 4 + 5 knowledge and skills for this career stage (Band 4) within the NHS Career Framework.
In designing the content and curriculum of this Fd BMS, we have already begun to consult employers within the NHS so as to ensure their appropriate input into teaching, assessment and content of the course.
We are able to utilise our extensive employer contacts within London that have been developed over many years due to our recruitment of biomedical scientists in the region onto our part-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Such employers include the following NHS Trusts in West London: Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare, Chelsea + Westminster, University College London Hospital, N.W. London Hospitals and Barnet + Chase Farm Hospitals.
