Course Overview:
The Foundation Degree in Public Service Management is an ideal course to equip public service managers to cope with the Government’s modernising agenda.
Historically, the public sector has been characterised by stability and permanence. However, it is increasingly a workplace that needs to respond to the demands of constant change, in order to deliver effective public services.
The course is aimed at people from a variety of work and educational backgrounds within the public services, including local and national government health and educational sectors, voluntary and not for profit organisations.

Assessment:
A variety of assessment methods will be used including portfolio building, assignments, reports, learning log and tests.
Progression Route:
On successful completion, the student can progress to the third year of a Business BA (Hons) Degree. Alternatively, students who exceed targets may apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies programme.
Entry Requirements:
This course is designed for those already in employment who do not have a higher education qualification, as well as for school and college leavers.
Applications are particularly welcome from mature students. Such students will be considered on evidence of their ability to benefit from the course and may not have to meet the formal requirements of the University for admission.
Applicants who have A/VCE A Level points score of at least 40 (e.g. 1 A/VCE A Level or 2 AS/VCE AS Levels), will be positively considered for admission to this course.
