Course Overview
This two year course, accredited by Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, has been designed to develop individuals with management potential. It will provide the student with the business knowledge and management skills needed to make a real impact at work and progress in their chosen career. The employer will benefit from your enhanced skills and increased business understanding enabling the student to be more effective at work. In addition the student will carry out project work that will help provide solutions to business and quality problems.

This is the standard course structure. However, students can replace Understanding Customers and/or Planning, Budgeting and Control above with one of the following modules if they wish. The student can choose the option most appropriate to them or we can design a module around your specific requirements.

Assessment:
Assessment will be carried out through assignment work.
Progression Route:
Successful completion of the course will enable the student to enrol on the final year of an Honours Degree in Business Management at relevant higher education colleges/universities. This can be done as either as a one year full-time or two year part-time course. The Foundation Degree will also help the student study for professional qualifications such as Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). There is also an option to progress onto a Professional Studies Honours Degree via distance learning.
Entry Requirements:
Normally students will be over 21 years of age with appropriate work experience.
For those under 21 with A levels or equivalent qualifications then they may be considered for the course if they are in a supportive full-time working environment. In addition a minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English or international equivalent will be required.
Programme Details:
Start Date: September
Location: Harrow College, Harrow-on-the-Hill Campus
Study Options: 2 years, part-time. Students will attend College one Saturday morning or evening a week plus two full day workshops in October. In addition students are expected to spend three hours a week learning at work and six hours during their own time studying and completing assignment work.
Fees: £950 per year, can be paid in two annual instalments
