Course Overview

This innovative course is designed to give students practitioner skills in both aromatherapy and reflexology, along with qualifi cation for membership of the relevant professional bodies.

The course provides a fl exible framework to meet the needs of existing complementary practitioners, healthcare professionals and other caring professionals wishing to develop a career in complementary healthcare provision. As well as providing practical skills, the course allows exploration of the concepts underpinning a range of complementary therapies, and to examine the practice of complementary medicines in the contemporary setting.

On successful completion, students will gain professional qualifi cations as a Refl exologist with the Association of Refl exologists (AOR), and as an Aromatherapist with the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA).

Progression Route

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to apply for registration as a qualified practitioner of refl exology with the Association of Refl exologists (AOR) and aromatherapy with the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapy (IFPA). They will have the skills to enable practice in a multi-professional environment. The range of employment possibilities include:

Graduates may choose to continue their learning in the fi eld of complementary medicine by progressing to the BSc (Hons) Complementary Medicine in Healthcare.

Entry Requirements

One of the following:

Students holding VTCT and/or ITEC qualifi cations in Massage, Aromatherapy and/
or Reflexology will need to provide evidence of their qualifi cation. Students will also be considered on the basis of their professional/work/life experience, their ability to engage with and benefit from the nature of the course, and their ability to work at Foundation Degree level.
