Institution: Thames Valley University

Course Overview

Health and Exercise Science is the study of the biological, physical and psychological influences on health and human performance and the effects of physical activity on human body systems, disease processes and well-being.

The focus of the programme is both the Health Sciences and the Exercise Sciences, as well as to indicate the integration of one with the other.

The Foundation Degree has been designed and developed to offer those individuals who are working in or interested in exercise related fi elds of employment, to pursue a course of Higher Education that they wouldn’t otherwise have considered.

The FdSc requires a shorter time commitment and thus a smaller financial investment, as it completes at the end of Level 5 and presents a possibly more attainable goal for such students.
