Course Overview
This course will prepare the student to become a highly skilled diesel diagnostic technician with specialist knowledge of the new generation of diesel engines and fuel-injection systems. It balances traditional academic study and vocational training with work experience forming an important part of the curriculum. Depending on the student’s academic performance, they can top up their qualification to Bachelor Engineering Degree level via further study.
This course is delivered in partnership with Delphi, one of the largest global manufacturers of automotive systems and components.

Assessment:
The assessment is through work based assessments, coursework and exams
Progression Route:
BEng top-up: one additional year for a BEng qualifi cation or two additional years for a BEng Honours qualification. The top-up to non-honours is only available as a full-time, one academic year programme.
Entry Requirements:
Appropriate qualifi cations include:
- Engineering or Technology Foundation course
- Access course (FE Level 3)
- BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ, GNVQ, Vocational A-Levels, relevant A- or AS-Levels
Other entry routes:
We will consider a range of alternative qualifi cations or experience that are equivalent to the typical offer.
