Course Overview

The course is specifi cally designed for students in full-time employment who would like to study on a part-time basis, and is designed to provide them with a broad technical knowledge of all aspects of Building Surveying within the construction industry.

It is suitable for those wishing to follow a career in a variety of fi elds including Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Building Design, Facilities Management, Construction Management and Building Control.

The student can gain academic credits for work in parts of the industry that are relevant to their degree.

Assessment

The methods of assessment will vary between the subjects, but generally include
coursework, group and individual assignments, presentations and end of module tests of a practical and written nature.

Progression Route

The successful completion of a Foundation Degree will allow the student to progress onto Level 6 of a full Honours Degree programme at the University of Westminster. It may typically take another two years of part-time study to complete the Honours Degree programme.

Entry Requirements

The student should have at least one of the following requirements: an NVQ, a mature crafts background without an advanced qualifi cation, or industrial experience.
