The West London Lifelong Learning Network HE in FE Group hosted its final workshop Assessment in HE.

The third in a series of 3 HE in FE workshops explored the issues of Assessment of HE in Colleges and the differences, if any, of assessment in a University.

One perception of HE assessment is that it is subjective, ‘we just know what a 2:1 is.’

Another is that there is no difference between Level 3 and Level 4 + assessment.

What is the reality?

The workshop looked at the different types of assessments used in Universities and HE in Further Education Colleges.

It also looked at developing assessment criteria for HE and assessment in practice.

The event was held at the Technology Centre, Uxbridge College. The series was taking the opportunity to look at different learning environments.

The workshop was delivered by Karen Sheehy, Teaching Fellow and Professional Lead Adult Nursing, Thames Valley University (Berkshire).
