We were told today that HEFCE, the government body that funds Lifelong Learning Networks in England, has approved our plan to sustain some of our operations until July 2011.

This is excellent news and underlines the success of the LLN and its partners in working to improve access to Higher Education for vocational learners in West London.

The plan to sustain a modified, smaller, LLN was approved without change or condition and is a massive vote of confidence in the commitment of our partners and the talents of the team at the LLN.

Our host university, Thames Valley University, has been generous and wholly positive in its approach to this exciting development.

Over the next few weeks we will be working out the practical details of the proposal – so watch this space for news!

Graeme Hall, Executive Director of the West London Lifelong Learning Network.
